Did autumn pass me by?
I think maybe it did
The world exhaled
In its breath were reds, oranges, gold
I didn't go outside to see them
Simply remained
here contained
where breath is steady and I am safe
But it passed me by nonetheless.
In years gone I would've walked
Passing cloud-like over hill and vale
Closed my eyes and felt the world
living around me
Marvelled at the colour
Crispness underfoot
Kicking leaves up into the air
Swirling snowstorms
dancing on the wind in lazy circles
This time I didn't go outside
So autumn passed me by.
